Drift was included in the John Moores Painting Prize 2014.

Drift is part of a series of paintings which explore light, temporality and the possibility of ideas being illuminated through a decisive moment (der Augenblick); it is transient yet magically full of potential and significance. The painting presents a floating cloud of luminosity which is suggestive of both a movement across a translucent terrain and the revealing of another dimension.

The John Moores Painting Prize 2014 exhibition is noted as being the UK’s best known painting competition and forms a key part of the Liverpool Biennial. The audience for the exhibition extends well beyond academic audiences into the public realm. The John Moores (established 1957) is regarded as presenting “the best contemporary painting from across the UK” and as such makes a long standing, recognised and highly respected contribution to the field.
